What is the Itero® digital scanner?

The Itero digital scanner is an advanced piece of equipment that dentists and orthodontists use for intraoral scans. It scans your entire mouth to produce a 3D image that the Los Feliz Dental Center team can use for treatments and planning purposes. The Itero scanner has a wand that your dentist uses to take images of every corner of your mouth. It takes many images per second as your dentist moves the wand around your mouth to eventually capture a single comprehensive 3D image. The wand is small enough that it usually doesn’t cause issues with gagging. 

The device displays the images in real-time so the team can see that the images are clear enough to send to a lab.
